Northampton Business School is pleased to announce the launch of its Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA). This four-year part-time programme offers a new route to a Doctoral qualification designed specifically for experienced leaders in the private, public and third sectors. The programme begins with two years of facilitated modules through which advanced skills in research methodology, research leadership and reflective practice are developed. Candidates then complete a thesis during the third and fourth years.

Unlike a traditional PhD, the DBA enables candidates to make a contribution to knowledge through the "novel application of theory" rather than the "development of new theory". This is achieved by basing the thesis within their own organisational context, thereby delivering benefits for both the individual and organisation. As such, we anticipate that many candidates will be sponsored by their employer.

We will accept our first cohort in September 2013 (subject to programme validation).
